just be patient. those knots will turn into pins, and from pins into fruits. waiting sucks, but you benefit from being patient. it will happen. it looks pretty healthy. are you fanning enough?

nice pix, thanks for sharing.
it's obvious your growing a P.cubensis, but i'm curious about what sub-strain your using. your knots look excellent, you should expect some nice pins coming along in less than a week, assuming your sub-strain has similar growth habits to the ones i've tried.
i ask about the sub-strain because i'm curious about the cause of the standing knots. yours look like they're coming a good 1/2 inch or more off the cake, and the possible causes<troubleshooting> would be -environmental, or -genetic.
assuming it's environmental- humidity and FAE would be my first suspects. humidity levels can cause mycelium to take on strange growth habits. FAE<or lack of, rather> will cause lateral growth of your knots, and later on, your fruitbodies.
and genetic...nothing you can do, except to try to provide conditions where those genetic factors will play out to your advantage. example, your knots grow long and vigorous- perhaps they would do even better if grown in bulk, with a casing layer, allowing knots to further develop into clusters.
at any rate...things look good, you have pins formed-indicating your conditions are proper, but growing with cakes can be inconsistant at best. so keep it up, post some pix for us as your grow progresses, i'd love to see how those knots mature.
<ps. are your cakes properly hydrated? did you dunk after you birthed?>

That is some crazy myc, looks like that would work GREAT with casing

the strain is b+. and Humidity and Fae is what i was thinking. my humidty was at 100% for a couple of days maybe thats why?  And their is no holes in my terrarium so maybe their is to little Fae even tho i am fanning at least 4-5 times a day.

to little humidty, to litle Fae. too much humidity to much fae? what are the combinations that u think might make the myc stand up like that?? its been almost a week and usually this doesnt happen with me.

fuck man, my PESA cakes are doing the same thing... except one of them looks like something from a different planet, the myc growth is fucking CRAZY..

no pins yet, just REALLY BIG myc balls... and I mean BIG

it's been like 2 1/2 weeks since I birthed them

what's causing this? (crazy myc growth)

it's only on one cake really

I would start by increasing FAE.. it's healthy, but searching for something.. no holes.. not good. In that case I would fan twice an hour.. but drilling holes is the faster way to cure it.

i had that on my cakes too. did you wait a week for consolidation? because the first time i did the pf tek it came out like that. when cubes dont have enough time to consolidate the sub they sometimes grow outwards like that. looks nice and healthy. you will get an awesome flush out of that like i did :mushroom2:

in short, drastically increase your FAE

they are not knots, these are knots.

thats the reason that happens, once your cake looks colonized you have to give it time to consolidate or digest its food so it can switch modes from eating to fruiting/reproduction.  a week is recommended. :stoned:

that is some crazy rhizomorphic growth though. :strokebeard:

YES. i would't worry about the humidity too much. I've found that, appart from desert condtions, FAE is more vital to pin formation than maintaining ~95% humidity
