Baeocystin and Norbeocystin...
    #11396679 - 11/06/09 11:24 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

I have been wondering how much the effects of these alkaloids contribute to mushrooms. I have never noticed different strains causing different effects all Ive ever noticed is some shrooms are rly fucking potent. potent enough that you have to eat like 8 to 10 grams of weak mushrooms to get the effects of 2 or 3 grams of rly good ones. The only other difference Ive noticed between different shrooms is that not all mushrooms experiences are alike. So i did some research and sadly lost the link but I read that Beaocystin and Norbeaocystin both end up metabolizing into Psilocin in the end just like Psilocybin does. What do the rest of you think about different strains of shrooms and these two somewhat mysterious compounds ??

for what i know, Beaocystin and Norbeaocystin are the weaker "brother and sister" of psilocybin resp. psilocin

this could be wrong though :justdontknow:

If you smoke liberty caps (high in baeocystin) you get an effect whch apparently can't be down to the pscilocybin. This effect is very warm, cosy and euphoric also mildly psychedelic. Never smoked mushrooms again as I cant imagine it's very good for you.
