watered my oyster basket

I have a basket of blue oysters going and I watered the basket this morning. No pins yet.
I noticed bubbles forming between some of the straw and it's the type of bubbles that are from from the soap. So there is still soap present in the basket from when I soaked it... i thought the autoclave simmer might get rid of that...
what a bummer right?
Well, i'll post the grow when it's complete

I dont think the residual soap causes an issue. Guess it depends on how much you have.. but I think oyster myc eats that stuff too.. lol

The soap is no biggie. Make sure you have drainage on the bottom of your basket - I forgot to drill holes my first time and it led to a water-logged substrate.

After I pour a certain amout of water in the middle of the basket I hear it start to drip down into the tote I have it over.
It's sitting on a screen frame thats acting as a top for a tote. So all the excess water goes down into the tote.
I wonder if that helps create a humid envrionment...
on non-cloudy days hear it drop from 85RH to 40RH  :shrug:
still working that out cause I want it outside

I fruited that log in my avatar in 55%rh.. though not perfect, they can get low.. just keep the substrate moist.. maybe mist the fruits when your just poking around at them, once they start pinning.

i've heard oysters fruit in very cold weather too. They freeze...unfreeze, and continue on their way...
So I hope to get all my oysters going for this winter. I would love an oyster feast for christmas.
