Can I mix corn syrup and light malt extract in LC?

Many of the LC recipes I can find call for light corn syrup OR light malt extract. I have both... can I just mix them? Say, 2% of each, and 96% water?

I'm about to knock up some LCs and am leaning towards 3% corn syrup with just a touch of malt...

(PS I assume that what people here keep calling "Karo" just means corn syrup... which is what I bought. Doesn't seem to be Karo in my town).

better to go with the malt and just a touch of corn syrup IMO

less chance for contams i would thing.. but im no LC expert.

I use malt + dextrose, which is what karo is. Works great. Add a pinch of yeast if you want.
Malt does make sediment in your jars- don't let it weird you out.

Thanks guys..:mushroom2:. yeah DocT, I was weirded out by the cloudiness... I was like "wtf!" and immediately searched "cloudy LC" in the forums! I think I found a thread with you telling someone to chill out, it would all settle... lol... anyways, if you guys want to see what I'm brewing up, I've just started a grow log here....
