What is it?
    #11392784 - 11/05/09 06:05 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

I found this growing out of the grass in my yard today, it was all by itself except for a little mutant with no stem growing off of the side of the cap
I'm in florida, it hasn't rained, it hasn't been very humid, and it was only 70-75 degrees ferenheit toady
If you can't tell this by the pics i will put a description

Cap:
Dark orange-brown, cracks that show white-yellow, the center has an indent, doesn't look dried out, but the flesh is pretty dry compared to some other mushrooms, it has some wrinkling around the edges, and its about 1-1.5 inches across

Stem:
The stem is yellow at the bottom, near the top its orange-brown, it is about half of an inch thick (probably less) hollow, no volva, no remnants or traces of a veil

Gills:
yellowish-white, pretty spread out

Bruising:
No apparent bruising

I'm working on a spore print now it will be done tomorrow

Here are some pics

A TI will get it, especially once you have a spore print.

The shirt would be cooler if it was about the actual murders....

It is still neato though.

Thanks. We were not positive which kingdom it belonged to.

So it is a fungi?
