Formula to determine tub capacity?
    #11392746 - 11/05/09 08:00 PM (8 years, 1 month ago)

How do I figure out roughly how much a tub can accomodate?  Is there a reasonably easy way?  Let's say depth of spawn/substrate is 4". How would one calculate based on the width and length of the tub how much it would take?  Math sucks.

Do this,

First, figure out how many quarts you will be using.
Then, fill up the tub using WATER by measuring and using a measuring tool.  I usually just use my quart jars for measuring.

This gives a pretty good estimate.

\/ cybertron's is also a good way to do it too

length x width x depth of where your substrate will be.

then convert that cubic measurement to quarts
http://www.conversion-metric.org/volume_conversion/cubic_inch_to_quart_conversion.php

1 US quart = 57.75 cubic inch
1 US quart = 946.352946 cubic centimeters

Wow that almost seems too easy lol...thanks for the info and links tho I should be able to guesstimate now even being mathematically retarded!

From simple addition to using variables.
