Any closet nerds that play SimCity?
    #11389108 - 11/05/09 06:35 AM (7 years, 11 months ago)

just found myself sitting at my computer for six straight hours building on the classic SimCity 4.

might get laughed out of the place for this one, but just wondering if anyone else still likes to play the cult classic best of all sim games.

:nerd:

Hey! simcity 4 is one of the best games ever especially with deluxe version, i've spent many an hour and day building huge ghetto's, towering buisness districts and complex transport systems.

I get a bit obsessed with it tbh, brilliant game, i just wish a 5th would come out....and i mean a good one, not the shit they're trying to pull off at the moment with 'sim city societies' and all the other bollocks!

Anyway i shall make my internet simcity dick look big and say the largest city i built got to around 850,000 pop with a metro area of around 3 million...that took months and months though. (and much fustration because of the lack of a undo button)

if you want to declare a Sim City game a classic, it has to be Sim City 2000. That game was brilliant for its time.

Loved simcity 2000! However, I still am constantly frustrated by the game because i can never get the city to work with a positive revenue! Always losing money... :frown:

For well you know that its a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.

Under closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.

Check out Cities XL Samba, it's a new game that really does a good job of being fun but not cartoony.

--------------------
The story goes, or the way that I was told
There was a king that always felt too high and then he fell too low
And so he called all the wise men to the hall
And begged them for a gift to end the rises and the falls
But here’s the thing, they came back with a ring
It was simple and was plainly unbefitting of a king
Engraved in black, it had no front or back
But there were words around the band that said
Just know: This Too Shall Pass

I would always end up sending in some natural disasters before my city could ever really thrive.

I'm playing it right now while closing out requests at work. My city is called
Motropollis
population114,746
commercial jobs 45,460
industrial jobs 13,786
Budget $1,077,113

Mayor Rating steady at around 80% for the past 100 years
My city is 199 years old.

I have a major league soccer team (I thought it was going to be an American Football team when I agreed to buy it)
Major League Baseball team, an Advanced Research Center a sea port, a golf coarse, a university, a bunch of hospitals and schools an large international and smaller air port, all my city buildings and medical research facility, a movie studio, a radio station and TV stations.

Man I love this game, and yes my ex-Wife called me a Nerd with a look of disgust whenever she saw me playing it at home.

Is there a free demo on the net...  all i heard from a 'friend' that it was great graphics but no real depth or replayability (obv not a word lol)

if you have played the game and say its great then i'd be intrested because i was actually looking forward to this game!
