hey all, this jar is 30 days old and i havent seen this until today. i have isolated it in another room just in case and im going to keep it growing because i dont smell anything funky and im color deficient so im not so good at picking out contams. they recently halted so i flipped them and loosened the cake from the jar, and colonization started up again, but now so has this....
here are a couple pics, please look immediately to the right of the lines marked on the jar. contam or not?

Looks like a bacterial infection, especially if it's taken over 30 days to colonize. Toss it.

Your cake looks colonized except that place, i would take it out and cut away that infected spot.

that does look slimy in the uncolonized area (bacteria). I have also successfully cut out infected areas like that.

I dont even bother opening a contaminated jar anywhere i will be doing future work. Take it outside and clear i there. But i would not use it myself. better to just start over than to waste time possibly propagating a contaminant.

This is not trich that can produce spores and they will be all over his house, its a bacteria - Wet spot contam, which is present in flour, water etc.

alright well the off coloring was residue on the jar after the cake slid down, it turns out...
so i birthed the cakes prior to full colonization because they just kept stalling (and i saw a RR post that said its fine to do this as long as you cut out the uncolonized parts).
well here is what they look like now. there is some off coloring on the cakes in certain spots (primarily the portion that i cut out due to uncolonization). i circled them for you. i cant tell if its because they are infected or if it is because it is jsut trying to colonize outside of a jar and its getting a weird reaction to the humidity level. am i being paranoid? could i chop this part out if its bad?
what do you guys think?
the circled part is sort of a valley that was cut out due to not achieving colonization.
