Some focus so much on conceptual intelligence that they lack emotional intelligence.

I once heard from a drug counselor that the smartest kids were often the worst addicts because they thought they were too intelligent and/or invincible to get addicted.

like my bro. always got top grades in school, always did his homework, was always doing something for his teachers. then he got addicted to coke once school was done. im guessing he got bored of not slaving away to the education system and coke was the only thing that gave him that mental stimulation. i really got through to him on a few mushroom trips afterwords and he never turned back. he was balling his eyes out. guess crying sometimes can lead to healing, or whatever the fuck im trying to get at.

I went through pretty much the exact same situation with heroin. A hell of a blast while it lasted but I'm glad I got out of it.

i wanted to go there bad after using hydromorphone a few times. laying in bed for 8 hours quivering in bliss... not much like it. so heroin was definitely of interest. just had no source.
