Damn, man, looks like a lot of work went into that motor. Are straight cut gears advantageous in straight line racing? I've never heard of anyone putting them in a drag car. How much boost was it running? Did you ever dyno it?.....I'm a car fiend.

Yeah, VERY few stock parts were left in that engine. The straight cut gears were the timing gears, not the ones in the trans(sorry for the confusion) but they did sound similar. The stock cam/crank gears are helical cut and the straight cuts freed up some parasitic loss and actually last longer.
I ran anywhere from 5psi to 16psi. I could run up to 11 on 93 octane without audible detonation. Otherwise, I would mix 50/50 pump and sunoco blue which I believe was 112 octane, or full 112. Actually, it was fastest on the 50/50 mix and 16psi. I also played around with auxillary methanol injection, but I was sent a faulty pump that only worked part of the time. In retrospect however, I do'nt think I could have gotten it to work all that good with the carbed draw-through setup anyway.
Never had it dynoed. I was scheduled to once, but developed a fuel leak once I got there and he would'nt let me run. A few days later is when I holed the head. I was pretty good at determining the jetting whenever I altered the boost pressure, but a dyno definitely would have had it dialed up right.
