Why wouldn't you reuse syringes?  It takes nothing less than like 30 minutes to rinse them out and pressure cook a batch of em...

or boil distilled water for ten minutes and suck it up and push it out a few times.

i find that the pressure cooker leaves a 2-4cc air bubble where the water boils out

if you buy 100 packs of syringes i could see why you wouldn't reuse them

or some people just use a syringe once and then do six generations of g2g

i have had the same 12 syringes for 2 years. just boil water suck it up spit out in sink do 3 times and the third leave the water in the syringe and walla blanks

not yet. but i dont use them as much as i used to, i just use to inoculate agar

see that was a question i had once bout that agar, because when i use a loop i wet it with sterile water first and everybody was like NO extra moisture will contam and i was like whoaaa there...

not a good idea to add water but can help if the spores are old. but will increase contam risk

where's the unsterile reuse option? :P
I know it's frowned upon, but the current batch colonizing has 1 jar that's outperforming the rest, and was nocced up with a completely unsterile syringe (aspired water directly from tap, open air) as a separate control jar.


That being said, i plan on reusing mine, albeit with a more sterile practice in the future :smile:

I've been having sterility issues. Ive been trying my a** off and can't get any mycelium to grow if my life depended on it...lol
