I found these in my yard in PNW
    #11383513 - 11/04/09 12:25 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

Habitat:
I found a cluster of these lil guys on the edge of my grass and wood chips the other factor to the habitat was that a lawn mower bag had been left laying out and the compost was all over the ground.
Gills:
Light getting darker as they dry out, attached, gills
Stem:
As you can see in the picture the stems are white and they turned brown after being picked.

Cap:
It was a dark brown and after being picked slowly changed to a lighter brown almost caramel color, smooth, most were an ovate shape with a few being more convex, probably older in age...

Spore print color:
Brownish-Purple ( I Did not have black paper with this one though)

Bruising:
The stem turned brown and the cap slowly got lighter

I found something very similar looking yesterday.  I couldn't ID it as a Psilocybe, so i took it home for a print.  Turned out to be cinnamon brown.

Not saying yours is the same as mine, but from your pic they look very similar.  Stem turning brown, cap getting lighter, etc.

welcome, and your not gonna get a answer with a pic that looks like a egg,

dosnt look like anything interesting either

and black paper is for white spore prints,

so if it has a brown/purple spore print you dont need black paper,

it also means it might be pstyrella(i think, im lousy at remembering facts correctly)

Hmm those look like azurescens which also have a purplish black spore print I believe. The cap should turn dark around the edge almost immediately after you pick it. Are you on the coast?

Edit: Dont take my word for it, the big one is the one that throws me off a bit to maybe think they are something else.

I dont live directly on the coast, no I live about 100 miles inland in washington, I looked up some pictures and they look just like azurescens dried out... Are there any dangerous look alikes with these types?
