SPIRIT ALLY

I was reading some articles on shamanism, voices heard on mushrooms and spirit ally's, and I have some questions.

Anybody ever contacted/become aware of/been aided by their "spirit ally"?

Anyone have any interesting vids/links/info on connecting with your spirit ally? anyway to make that connection stronger?

Also, anyone think that beings in the spirit realm protect us from negative spirits such as the greys, negative forces of the universe?

I've had reoccurring dreams about a Polar Bear... I have come to think this is my "spirit ally" or whatever you want to call it.

I think the Shamans manifested it with thought - just as you can manifest a sword and armor in the astral realms.

It's like a crutch you can rest on when times get tough. I've been looking for some literature on the subject too.

I have had plenty of contact with spirit guides. I have yet to figure it all out. My experiences have all been pretty personal. Not a whole lot of physical things have happened.

The best way is through dreams IMO. My spirit ally, power animal or whatever you want to call it is a very large grizzly.

At first he would help me out in dreams, then he came more and more. Now I have a very powerful bond with him.

Do you know of any good books on specific shamanic practices for healing?  I have read a few books on faery healing and such, and I'd like to hear more about specific shamanic rituals.

Only "human" spirits, I think more than one, but they aren't real big on identifying themselves. The more I interact with them the less I know. I don't worry about some of the details anymore. I do believe that I have a group with one spokesman.

The only books I can find on Shamanism are written by Westerners. More like an anthropological account than anything else. :/

Not yet. I usually see him in the astral plane or dreams. I sometimes sense his presence while awake also.

You could look at Alberto Villoldo.

I'll have to check him out. 'The World of Shamanism" by Roger Walsh is great for an external point of view, but he doesn't go into enough practical technique.

Ive had reoccurring images of a person and spoken to him a lot. I think he might be a spirit ally of some kind. I just wonder who he is and where he comes from. He's always smoking a cigarette. There's also female ones Ive seen which helped me a lot. Also there have been elves, also very helpful.
