those do appear to be gymnopilus. they could be any of several species though (though i don't klnow how many gymnopilus species grow in your area), could you give some more details?

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

hey card, don't be a dick (sorry if i'm being one). btw, gg: i didn't mean to imply that you couldn't id it yourself, i just meant that it looks as if it could be another species.

Nice, did you find these growing from woodchips or tree trunks?... Nevermind, I reread the post and it's woodchips.
Just out of curiosity, is your "o" key broken?

Yes my keyboard is all fucked up - ha! well right now it is working perfectly for some odd reason but it comes and goes
My o and p and y and i keys are not working so good So they all have to be copy and pasted one at a time
And my Floppy disks drive has been acting up also but i think i got it fixed.
They probably are not spectabilis actually, they might be Gymnopilus liquiritiae.. They were growing in woodchips - not an actual tree stump
Either way, i think this is the first time i have found this mushroom, as we usually find only Gymnopilus luteifolius
They took gorgeous orange spore prints and i will probably use those to make trades with people for other stuff
Does anyone have any pictures of Gymno liquiritiae???
