A cube is a cube BUT...
    #11379843 - 11/03/09 08:24 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

My question is about the other types of psilocybe mushrooms. For example a p. azurescens, a p. baeocystis or a p. tampanensis just to name a few. There are plenty more looking on the sporeworks site and I was wondering if any are noticeably more potent than a p. cubensis? I am currently working with the cubensis because I have read their easiest to cultivate and relatively potent. And thus far I can attest to the fact that this grow is going smooth but they are not done so I cant for the potent aspect of them. But in a nutshell are any other of the psilocybe mushrooms types noticeably better than a cubensis as far potency goes? I just want to try to cultivate something better than a cubensis if there is a better psilocybe. If this was already asked and answered please direct me to a link because I been searching and cant find what I am looking for no matter how I word it. Thanks.

YES
Pans are way more potent, stones are more potent, lots of stuff.. cubes are just easy to grow..

That. No point in growing 'better' mushrooms if you only get a few.

the p tamp p gali and p mexi are great for producing stones wich should be easier than cubes if you have a pc and start with a clean syringe.

pans are what you would want for potency. very low yield though

It is not quantity that I am after as much as quality. I do this for myself not anyone one else so if I get a few ass kickers that get it done in half the amount as a bunch of average joes then that is a success in my book.

I don't mean to double post but on the sporeworks site I see "Panaeolus (Copelandia) cyanescens," now that would be a pan?

Dude I've tried lots of cubes and I disagree with there all the same. I really think diffrent strains hold diffrent effects. As far as wood lovers you would need patiants and time. Pans on the other hand fruit in relatively the same parameters as cubs. But try cubes first to learn then move on.

Well right now I am growing some GT's and have a couple B+ prints to play around with. The GT's will probably be done in a few weeks so that will give something to test run. And the B+'s will be going in a week or to so I can compare how things go with them. My main thing is I want something with strong visuals and if it has a slight body buzz I wouldn't mind that. And as far as my saying a "cube is a cube" it is a term I have seen thrown around here allot so I kind of just put it in the title to draw attention.

when soemoen says pan's they usually mean Pan. cyan. Paneouls (sp) is a genus just as Psiclyobe (i cant spell tonight) is the genus of the species cubensis.

there are other Pan. species though. recentley we had a discussion with the help of workman trying to figure out exactly what is what. the pan goliath which supposedley gets signifigantly bigger than other pans is not a cyan but Pan. cam. if i remember right.

think Homo sapien Homo erectus etc. different species same genus.

My cousin was telling me the B+ grow he had turned out good and they were pretty good all around and in the visual department. I don't know much about the GT's but I am looking forward to giving them a shot. But the main point of the thread is to find a mushroom I can grow that I would need to munch on 1 gram to get the effect of 3, if that makes any sense. Or even if not to that extreme just something that needs less to get more if it is possible. I just want a potent strand for myself and what I have gathered thus far is the panaeolus is where its at.
