Anyone else take tylenol PM's everynight

i know that shit cant be to healthy. I've been taking them about everynight for like a year now.

i used to have a script for seroquel (is that how you spell it?) and that shit knocked me the fuck out. Problem was it gave me the munchies too. So i'd basicaly be crawling to the damn fridge cause i'd be so hungry but so tired.

but shit, any one else pretty dependant on sleeping pills or find it impossible to sleep without them?

Try melatonin to help with you sleep.  Its not going to knock you out like prescription meds, but if you at least try to fall asleep it will help.

its an over the counter supplement.  sold at vitamin/health food stores, or online.  3mg is a normal size capsule.  about $10usd for 100.

yea it makes dreams enjoyable too..

try some of the sleep aids at walgreens or walmart (where i get mine) like Sleep MD
they typically just have melatonin, hops,  Valerian root and a lot of other helpful ingredients and they're generally all natural (herbal)

The first time I took melatonin, I fell asleep with my comp. in my lap.

My friend and i were curious, so we took like 7 each one night, and we both fell asleep with the t.v. on, snacks on the table, no shower and no brushed teeth. We had some vivid dreams, then woke up ELEVEN hours later. Soooo much sleep, I felt GREAT!:smile:

To finish the bottle, I keept taking them nightly that summer. Eventually the stopped working. After taking a break, I noticed they got me sleepy again, but I didn't really experiment anymore.

It works if you think it will tho, much less unhealthy too:thumbup:

Daily acetominophen for a year is not good dude. Cut that shit out! It's not like the acetominophen is what's putting you to sleep, that's the diphenhydramine.

So stop fucking over your liver and buy some benedryl or one of the over-the-counter sleep aids with diphenhydramine as the active ingredient.

Or better, try an over-the-counter sleep aid that has doxylamine succinate as the active ingredient instead. For knocking your ass to sleep, I'd recommend that over diphenhydramine.

That's all I do is buy the cheap benadryl!! same sleep ingredients in Tylenol and Advil PM..just no acetaminophen..I even asked my doctor and he said it was fine...e

Seriously. Tylenol PM just equals acetaminophen + diphenhydramine.

Diphenhydramine alone knocks me out when I need it, but too much always give me electric nerves.

Might I suggest kava? It's always been a very effective drug for me...

generic gravol is the cheapest diphenhydramine product out there.... I can get 100 for less than 5 bucks

Ok I'm basically in the same boat as the OP. I take 1-2 tylonal PMs a night. I have benedryl but I swear, taking two of them does absolutely nothing for me. Melatonin doesn't help me fall asleep and I actually get a hangover of sorts for 3/4 of the next day (unusually zoned out and zero energy). I've even tried Ambien before to no avail. I work out pretty hard twice a week and eat healthy too. I know smoking herb would do the trick but I just don't smoke anymore. Guess I'll give the benedryl another shot tonight and see whats up.

I took them pretty much every night for a good 4 years. I would exceed the recommended dosage frequently. No idea how I still have a liver. I recently quit taking them. Like others suggested you should at least start taking a pill with just diphenhydramine hcl for your livers sake.

Switch it to "Simply Sleep". Little blue package. Made by Tylenol too, I think. You can find it in the same isle but it contains ZERO acetominophen. Just pure diphenhydramine.

I still swear by it, there is a major difference between taking two tylonal pm's and two benedryls. Both have 25 mgs of diphenhydramine hydrochloride but these benedryls DO NOT put me to sleep.

it's also the most overpriced diphenhydramine product, prolly end up paying close to 10 bucks for 20... like I said earlier, generic gravol, or motion sickness pills are where it's at... 100 of them for less than 5 bucks

Dude,like someone said...go natural...try hops or Passionflower,maybe even a combination...

I wouldn't be to worried about your liver but definitely stop or it might get worse...i hope those don't go over 500mg acetaminophen.

I sleep so easily.

At a festival i went to i slept right beside the massive loudspeaker. I could feel the bass all through my body and i managed to fall asleep.

That could have just been the days on end doing drugs and not sleeping though. Who knows :shrug:

Not to sleep but... to clear your mind. It's good practice.
