Birthing jars tonight! My first babies...
    #11379221 - 11/03/09 08:54 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

I have little guys growing in my jars, and they are at 100% colonization.  I have early onset of shroomies, so I'm birthing a few days early.  I have been wondering to myself all week if the little wide mouth jars have less surface area and if I should have gone with them.  Was reading in another thread earlier tonight and noticed RR urging against the taller jars.  They take longer to colonize-which is my problem.  And they are prone to contamination.  I am over 5 weeks in-these babies are screamin' to get out of these jars.  Thinking about eating the little fuckers raw, lol.  I am going to post some post-op pictures in a few hours.  Thanks to you all for getting me this far.  Any advice always gladly welcomed.
Is it so bad to eat them fresh?  Never done it.  All the reading I've done up to this point has been about growing them, not drying them lol.

Currently building a library of edible/active strains, please see my Trade List
If you can help in this process, the please feel free to send me a :pm:

Yea there great fresh, but to further discuss that it belongs here http://www.shroomery.org/forums/postlist.php/Board/1

The short fat 1/2 pint jars are far superior, use them always if you can get them.

Dont forget to dunk and roll them especially if they have taken 5 weeks to colonize

I only have 1 fat short jar and my others are the tall ones. Works for me. I couldn't get my hands on more short ones, just couldn't find them. As for freshies, dude last week I had a 12.5g and it took me to like a level 4 trip. I'm talking cartoon style!
