I read that any cigarette flavored with anything but menthol will be illegal because of teenage smoking...wtf???!!!!

That's what I've read too. The law went into effect last month. Existing stocks can be sold, but after that's done they are no more.

I went into the indie store the other day looking for left over cloves and they were gone /replaced by flavored cigars
I mean shit i knew it was going to happen in sep. but figured I could still find em somewhere ...guess not

oh yeah - I am SO fucken going to every god damn smokeshop I can find on my next day off, and throwing down whatever the fuck it is I got saved up up until this point, to snatch up EVERY GODDAMN LAST ONE i possibly fucken *can* get at this point
I've been the 'occasional' clove smoker for close to a decade now as it is, and especially now that I've just recently here learned that cloves are the perfect thing to smoke with DMT (which, BTW, has also just recently here become my #2 all time favorite 'drug' of all time) you better damn well believe I'm gonna do everything in my power to snatch up as much of this shit as I can well I'm still able to

Really?! You guys are having that big of problems finding cloves already?
I just walked past some people smoking them today. I'm gonna make a run to the store and buy 2-3 packs before they become extinct in these parts.

This bill was pushed by the tobacco lobbies. Flavored tobacco isn't what gets kids hooked on cigarettes. Kids get addicted just fine with plain ol' Camels and Marbs.
To the tobacco companies, all those flavored tobacco products represent a market share of sales for which they can't compete unless they spend small fortunes in R&D designing various flavored blends. Clearly making them illegal is the more fiscally sound choice for the,. simply eliminating the market share they can't touch. The economy is down right now, and tobacco in general has been in a long slow recession for a long time, so they've got to be getting creative about ways to improve their lot.
The fact that it appears to oppose teen smoking is just a handy side-effect that can be spun to reflect positively on the companies
