To Protect and Serve? or To Ignore and Deny?

I gashed my hand open so bad on holloween right in front of a cop car and when I asked them if they could drive me the two blocks to the ER they just stared at me and drove away. I had to walk it while carrying my longboard and while pouring blood out of my hand
This adds to my distrust of police stemming from the time they claimed I had meth/coke residue in a nickel ziplok that a friend got earings in and left the empty bag in my car.
Bunch of bullies they are

it's not their job to drive you 2 blocks dude.
Although a lot of people are saying that police should walk instead of be in patrol cars and be active in the community, it doesn't mean that they should be your mom.

I would drive someone 2 blocks if their hand was pumping blood out so bad they dripped a trail of blood where ever they walked

They are useless. Every time I have been the victim of a crime they have done absolutely nothing, home invasion, theft, assault - they dont give a fuck. The times when I was the criminal they would lie to my family, steal my things and manipulate the facts. Cops are so bad, my wife worked at a domestic violence shelter and they had a policy that no police were allowed on campus. At any one time a half dozen of the women there would have police as their abusers and their cop abusers would come around looking for them. And of course their buddies would never press charges on them.
The cops are the enemy, they can all fuck off.

I find that cops are either helpful nice people that care, or they are complete power hungry assholes. I've met my fair share of both.

They aren't a taxi/ambulance service. Besides that fact Halloween is usually a very busy night for most police officers and most often it would be preferred that they don't spend time driving you to the hospital for a minor injury. Ideally they would be spending that time pursuing actual criminal causes....ideally...

I got pulled over by cops once because they thought I was drunk driving (I was completely sober), and they were really nice and just told me to be careful, then went away, they didn't even make me do a breathalyser test.

I am fundamentally concerned about anyone who takes a job, knowing full-well that part of their job description is ruining some poor kid's life (loss of student loans, probation, etc.) because he has a bag of grass...
I mean there's always the Good German argument, that they didn't know about the concentration camps and the human skin lampshades, and that they were just following orders, but come on... a large part of being a cop means harassing skater-kids and locking people up for marijuana (in some states more than others)...
However, to be fair, the laws come from politicians and the frightened public who votes for this shit, but when a lot of these stupid laws are repealed and personal freedom is restored, and when cops just go after murders, rapists, and thieves, then my view of them will be less harsh... Until that day, then they just seem like part fo the problem to me...

I agree with you. In fact, if drugs were legal, I might enjoy being a cop. I just couldn't handcuff someone who was only guilty of possessing/using any drug.
Then again, I'd also have a hard time ruining peoples' days by writing a bunch of tickets and shit, so maybe I wouldn't be a good cop...
