I am BIG on not taking prescribed antibiotics and the flu shots. I am a firm believer that unless we are already seriously ill, our body's immune system can and will overcome these illnesses. Your belief may be different than mine and I am ok with that. I just want to put info out there to give people better chances to make informed decisions. Check out this link here.

Where did you study medicine? Or do you just get your info from the internet?

Like most people who think vaccines are horrible, he probably jsut got his information from the internet. I, however, *somewhat* agree. There is no need for an otherwise healthy person to have a seasonal flu shot, especially if you have a good diet and a fairly strong immune system (I rarely get sick so I don't like to take something from someone who might need it, although my girlfriend gave me a nice present of bronchitis or something and my throat's good and inflamed). Other than that though, for something like swine flu, which is harmful to people with a decent immune system, a vaccine isn't so bad an idea. Antibiotics are definitely a good idea when you're already sick, as long as you take the whole course so as to not unleash a superbug on the rest of us.

Just basic immunology knowledge will tell you that flu shots are nearly worthless, since there are so many viruses that mutate all the time, and flu shots only work for a specific virus, and there are very little chances you'll get exactly the same virus you've been vaccined against. Personally I just prefer to eat the right stuff that creates the protein my body needs for creating any necessarry kind of antibody.

Exactly what I think. I just believe in the human body. As far as me studying medicine..... I dont. I go off of the fact that myself, my children and other loved ones do not partake in these and we rarely get sick other than simple colds. I am just putting out info and you can make your own decisions. No need to get sarcastic or defensive audiophoenix, or did I take your post the wrong way?

Not that I agree with the OP's philosophy on medicine, but a friend mentioned this story to me the other day. It's related:

I've had infections that could have killed me, or could have caused lifelong problems without antibiotics.

I am not saying that antibiotics are bad. Obviously if you are seriously ill then have at it, Like I stated in the thread already. But doctors do push them when they are not needed.
