Problems With "one" of my FC

Well one of my F.C. which is a skippys peanut-butter container containing one PF-cake is now pinning it is golden teacher the pins took 9days to pop up but there popping up in a horrible place the top of the cake and the lid for the chamber is about 1-2 cm's away they will surly hit the lid before they are mature.
So my question is what can I do ?: Mabey a zip-lock bag around it or at least around the top to replace the lid so the shroomys can go right up and so I won't have to block my holes (Shot gun set-up)
Also now misting is a problem since what I usally did was mist the top of the cake only right on the verm now pins are comming from there but none from the side which is odd? So can I directly mist the pins and then just fan em out will they be ok or will it cause an abort.

#1 your FC is too small. #2 remove the lid then tape a bag over the jar or remove the cake to a proper FC.
seriously, build a small SG

yeah man what slimz said, trust me. i started off with a crumbled cake cased with verm in a pretzel containter with holes poked in it. as i was waiting for pinning i finally had a "what the fuck am i trying to do" moment went to walmart and got the stuff to make a proper RR style shotgun FC and as long as you make it exactly as instructed you never need to worry about if your fruiting conditions are correct or not. i'm just a noob by far but it's extremely easy just to pop cakes or trays into a proper shotgun rather than trying to fuss with some tiny peanut butter container.

I made a 1 cake FC out of a large water bottle (dear park)4in. perlite lots of holes ect... works if u end up with a suspect cake that u want to keep away from others.

That's pritty much what Im doing Im seeing if this cake just by the looks of the mycelium will perform better then the other cakes because there growth while colonizing didn't look too intense and didn't finish as quickly as this one.
Well I guess I could use one of those pretzel containers I have quite a few and alot more perlite.

Actually you would probably get better results from a jar with either no lid or just a piece of plastic sitting on top of the jar/FC.
If you really want to go this low tek and cultivate a few specimens you can just open a colonized quart of grain that's been fully colonized for an extra week or so, leave the lid off or sitting halfway on the jar, ignore it for a while, and some mushrooms should slowly come up. As it's been said here before, cubensis are not difficult to cultivate. I haven't tried this with smaller jars though.
A jar with a bag on it sounds sounds like it would take as much space as a small tub or 5gallon bucket. Actually, while i mention it, i think spawning to bulk, a few inches, in a 5gallon bucket is the easiest method if you only want a dry oz or less of cubensis. It's simple to pull 1.5 dry ounces from a bucket, no holes, just fan sometimes. ~P~

You could double stack one cake in your regular FC. You could get away with that for one run if you wanted to? Just a thought.

Thanks I think I will just cut my cake and place it in the other FC
Will this delay the pins all ready set on it? If I cut it in two.

Why not just go out an spend $3 bucks on a clear tube for the cakes?

I all ready have one but its full of other cakes this is an extra that had no room to fit so I decided to grow it separate from the others.
If I where to use a large glass jar should I leave the lid off? or On and with some holes in it?
