not as a 1 to 1 replacement, but based on what im seeing, it should provide nutes
test it for us
hydrate it properly and see if it falls apart like coir.
it is 100% coconut husks

for a beginner, always try what works first so that you can build a foundation upon which you can experiment with.
But if you're the type that is creative(a truly creative person is very rare according to psychology, and whoever is reading this is most likely not considered creative *sorry folks, I know we've all been told at least once in life that we are creative* )then go for it! Maybe you'll be as successful/creative as the person that invented the post-it note and made bank.

well the reason i ask is like slimzs said its 100% coconut husks but like you said i want a good foundation so ill just see what happenes

i would mix something in with it to fill in some of the gaps left by the chunks
try verm or horse poo maybe some spent coffee grounds mixed in too

when it gets wet it expands a little but nowhere near what you would expect
try and throw it in a blender to grind it up a little or like i said mix some other things in with it

i would treat it like grain.
soak for 24 hours, simmer for 10 min, then PC it in an oven bag.
THEN us is as bulk mixed with verm and maybe some coffe
