Vermiculite performing poorly as casing material
    #1137522 - 12/13/02 06:29 AM (15 years, 4 months ago)

Substrate : 700ml Rye

Vermiculite
The colors are far off, the real thing does NOT have those blue specks.

Screened potting soil

Strain : Ecuador (Equador, EQ)

So, does verm always perform this poorly?
I guess im doing something wrong...?

Anyway, these pictures where taken a few days ago and the one cased with
screened potting soil is getting wild (3-6 inches big).

Maybe if i can borrow a camera i'll take some pictures... of my first babys!

I screened ordinary potting soil containing peat moss, sand and limestone and used that.
pH 7.
Mixed to field capacity(+20ml) and pressure cooked for 45 min.

Seems to work ok.
First mush.
