mushrooms in a mini greenhouse.

Hi,
I recently got this mini greenhouse from my friend. It's in hard plastic and has heating in the bottom.

My question is : Can you grow mushrooms in it?
Size: 38x25x19cm (is the height ok?)
How many cakes do you think I can fit in the greenhouse? I'm looking to buy 435ml jars.
Hope you guys can help.
Thanks.

Sounds great.
How many cakes do you think would fit in the greenhouse? Maybe three? So I doesn't get to crowded.

i would crumble 4 -6 cakes to come bulk like coir+verm+gypsum
you will get a MUCH larger harvest

yeah, doing a mini bulk in there is probably the better alternative.. will need to drill some holes in the sides of the lid for air.. with cakes you would have to keep it roomy, since there is no room to go up.. they will go out.

no need to drill holes, just put a small computer case fan or processor fan aiming down in one of those vents.
turn it on for 5-10 min every 90 min

looks good I would go with a mono tub style grow myself. Cover those vents with a layer of polyfill and have a fan near by but not on it. Good luck post back and let us all know how it works.

Ok sounds good.
I'm pretty new at this, so could you maybe explain the bulk thing + coir+verm+gypsum.
I thought maybe I could just crumble 4-6 cakes in a tinfoil tray and maybe keep it moist with vermiculite.

if you just break up the cakes you need nothing else cuz i assume they are BRF. but i would break them up and spawn them to coir or poo cuz just breaking up a cake losses allot of nutrition to recolonize

If you use the search engine you can find a simple recipe for horse poo and verm. If you want to use coir there are plenty of recipes for that too. I like one brick of coir to about twice that volume in poo, add about 10% verm by volume Gypsum if you can get it and some coffee grounds for good measure. My recipe makes about 15 shoe box cakes I have lots of oysters after a good flush. I think it could fill your mini green house about 6 times. Good Luck
