Will a Presto do the job?
Since efficiency is the main concern, get an AA now. Why waste money on a job-destroying piece of shit from china that will be worthless in a few years? For less than twice the price, you'll get something that will last for a hundred years. That's a bargain in anyone's book. RR
Its funny you should say that RR,,,,,,If you would take the time and think about it not all foreign companys are bad. If this country did not have an open trade agreement with the many other country's that we do,Life as we know it would seize to exist.
I understand that your still pissy about walmart not accepting your videos for the fact that the dvd's were punched in a union factory But then again no one can be sure thats exactly the reason. I just remember you saying something to that matter in a former post.
As for presto stealing jobs thats complete crap and you know it... They might be made over seas but then again if they were made here they would be the same price as AA if not more expensive, why you ask Becuse Americans in general are greedy everybody in general wants more then they deserve. Being that I'm from the big 3 capital and know hundreds of people that work there I know this first hand...... The big three did'nt bankrupt themselves the blue collar workers did a majority of that for them, What they dident do the whites finished off....... I mean come on who in there right mind deserves 30+ dollars an hour to put screws into a bezel and then on top of that milk out overtime, sick leave, and disabilities and thats just to start...
If anything,Presto is doing Americans a favor not only by supplying us with jobs but also making a great product at a great price that will last much longer then 3 years,I believe I have had mine for 5 years now with zero problems what so ever.
Just becuse there not made here does not mean those are the only jobs..... Presto has plenty of other jobs in the states in which Americans fill the positions.....
By all means Dont get me wrong I love America and would defend Her till the death,,,,,, But like everything else there are down falls and Greed just happens to be one major one.....
As for a recent poster saying that " here arguing that your presto is of equal quality to an AA" I never once said that.... In Fact I do believe hands down that AA makes the finest PC available to the general public no doubt. I am merely saying to the op that you can do anything with a presto 23 in this hobby that you can with a AA****,,,,I personally bought a presto for the fact that I'm a cheap ass
Bottom line is if you have a deep passion for this hobby already and know for sure in 10 years from now you will still be into it and you can afford the AA by all means buy it,,,If however your short on funds and need something that will last for years buy a Presto.
I know RR that in reading this that you will know that I am not calling you out or giving you a hard time,,,But simply having a discussion amongst hobbyist
I only care that products made in places like China, Vietnam, and Mexico are often of subpar quality.
I'll give you examples:
Back in the day, Ampeg made amps and speakers for bassists that seriously rocked. They had classic tone and bass in rock was seriously defined by this toned produced by Ampeg. Once Ampeg shipped to Vietnam, everything fell apart and the name Ampeg is very fast losing its reputation. Now, people will only buy vintage Ampegs made in America and for a good reason.
Fender produces basses and guitars from three different countries. Guess where the top-notch fenders are made? thats right, United States. Made in Mexico(MIM) basses sell for ~$700 less than their United States counterpart. Why? Because the quality is subpar and Fender was smart to have multiple countries of production, one for the people that only are in it for the short term or just beginning, and one for the serious musicians that want to professionally record with their instruments.
Don't even get me started about Chinese dog food, cat food, and drywall...
The truth is, its hard to avoid subpar Chinese products, but when I'm dealing with something that could potentially blow up in my face, or god forbid someone else's, I'll err on the safe side.
Not to mention I'm sick of buying new pressure cookers, been through two of them already...
