taking too long to fully colonize?
    #11368886 - 11/02/09 12:33 PM (14 years, 4 months ago)

its been about 31 days since knock up, PF TEK, Alacabenzi. keeping it in a shoebox in a room the ranges from 70-80 degrees depending on the temp outside (furnace room). they all halted not too long ago and i flipped them and gave them a palm slap and they started to grow a little.

is there cause for concern here? i would hate to be 95% there and have to pitch them.

one of them appears to have some sort of bacterial infection:

here is a pic, the markers show the uncolonized areas.

would i yield anything without full colonization?

for clarification, along those lines its all fuzzy white mycelium so it is definitely still growing, but it seems to be going too slow. should i up the temp or what?

Im no pro but you could always use them as spawn rather than throw them away, and yes i think you would still get fruit just not as much or as contam resistant. Get more opinions tho...

thanks for the response. i went out for a couple hours, came back, the room was much warmer and i saw a definitive change in the growth (more fuzziness), so i htink a few more days with this increased temp and it should be good. for the possible contaminated, im not sure it its part of the cake or just some residue from when i patted it off the glass.

what do you mean by using it as spawn? is that for a casing method?

Yes you can spawn it to H-poo and wash off the noncolonized areas.
