not a clue, id request
    #11367321 - 11/02/09 07:25 AM (8 years, 9 months ago)

these were found growing in mixed forest debris in New England over the week-end. slimy/gelatinous texture to the stem, the tips seem to be hollow spheres with no perceptible spore expulsion on squeezing. i did not pick any so no spore print or perceptible bruising. any ideas? thanks so much for any help

that's actually an excellent question. i believe it is one because i've seen them before, they grow and decay within a few days, and because of the way they pin and fruit almost like some creature giving birth. but since i did not pick any for printing or other purposes, i guess it definitely begs the question as to whether they are even mushrooms. i don't have a clue what these are :blindfury:

It most certainly is, but I have no idea what it is. I believe it's some sort of stinkhorn relative, maybe.
