Hows am i looking? (WBS spawned to Coir/Coffee Mono) *PICS*

Hello again,
Trying another attempt after my previous limited success.
I just wanted to know how this is looking, my mono has colonized about 98-100% for the last 2-3 days.
Is this ready for fruiting conditions or should i leave it to consolidate a bit more before i go drilling the FAE holes?
Here are some pictures, opened it for about 10 seconds to take the pic and closed it again. I forget what the spawn ratio was, but it was on the high side maybe close to 1:5.
Any advice, greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Nobitte.

Looking Great! I would Case that if i were you. Try a 50/50 Coir/Verm casing, Doesnt Overlay and provides a good microclimate. But If you want to fruit uncased go for it. Happy growing!

Ill try uncased on this one, and i might do a casing on my bucket, since i lack the required funds to go buy another bag of verm for the time being.
Although it might be worth the investment.
Will i lose much/if anything to fruiting uncased in a mono like this?

You might lose a little or not, all depends on your env. factors and how well you treat your fungus =D

ideally your holes should have been drilled before adding your sub, drilling the holes will get plastic everywhere now, which isn't really a good thing
regardless, that looks ready to fruit (maybe give it one more day so it consolidates), personally i'd go uncased

1:5 is a pretty low ratio.
High would be around 50:50 (1:1)

Uncased coir fruits great by itself. Casing it is not really beneficial IMO.

then why would people do it? rez effect? what are the pros and cons of a casing layer? Ive read about contams but arnt colonized casings contam resistant?

Uncased:
Casing was something I always wanted to try, but with uncased projects turning out like this, why bother?

Those look like great results for the uncased argument.

Suppose ill just fruit uncased, as for the drilling of the holes, i just wanted to give it less FAE, in hopes of it colonising faster.
Ill make sure i clean the plastic before i go a drillin.

Also do this. XD I meant its a LOOOOW ratio, all the same, it seemed to get more or less 100% in a week. which is good i suppose.
Im testing a bucket at the moment with a spare jar, its ratio was something like 1:10, just starting to pick up speed after a few days, should be done in 3-4 more days.
Apart from the contam risk, and the wait time, is there any other reason to have higher spawn ratios?

You are going to drill after colonization?
Better cover with plastic or something to catch all the shavings that will litter your tub.
At this point you shouldn't have to worry that much about contams.
Anyways, drill the holes, stuff with polyfil, and place in a sealed trash bag.

Hahaha, wow, i guess i didnt think the process through too much. I will most certainly do this in future, thank you dancefloordale.

Holes drilled, no dramas.
Although, i think all the C02 created with this mushroom development is attracting more than the usual amount of jungle mosquitos into my dwelling.
Question; Should i put a fan on in my jungle hut to increase the air circulation? or should i open the door/fan it/place it outside instead? I havent had any experience with monos and have no idea what sort of ambient airflow if any is needed for them.
Chyars,
Nobitte.

Its real hot today, like 35C everywhere, no avoiding it (at least not without leaving the jungle).
I know thermal death is up around 40-50C or so, but is this consistent unavoidable heat alright for my monos and jars that i have sitting around?
Just that question,
Too hot, too dry, like 25RH atm in my room.
Any assistance is appreciated.
