Yeah, diffusa is what I was worried it would be. Either way, I know it's not Ariocarpus.

Diffusa is the "false" Loph, right? This would breed with a Caespitosa wouldn't it? If so what would the seed produce?

You guys think 13 bucks + shipping and handling is a good price? He says this one is about an inch across. I really want to expand my Loph collection. I NEED PERESKIOPSIS!!!!

I really dont wanna spend 15 bucks for 10 rooted cuttings that are only 2-3 inches tall. I wanna get a BIG MOMMA to make my own clones.

Well, I will definitely buy it if its a fricii, but money is a bit tight and I would rather have a cacti with more "utility" if you catch my drift.

Can anyone confirm it is L. fricii?

It is difficult to tell without a flower, it does look fricii-esque though, although L. Fricii is probably the most variant species of Lophophora.

Please keep in mind that Fricii and any lophophora for that matter tend to not be great means of obtaining mescaline as they do take an immense amount of time to get to a harvestable size and to have the quantity you would need.

That 1" loph is too big for pereskiopsis too.

Stick with trichos for consumption and save the lophos.

As ar as hybridizing Caespitosa, it would probably not working or you'd get a VERY low seed count.

Luckily Fricii are notorious for clumping, especially when grafted to large stocks.

Yah, you definitely won't be "utilizing" that Loph. regardless of its species anytime in the next couple years at least.  That's why you should just buy it and if you manage to cultivate it well, you'll have flowers and be better able to ID it as fricii or not.  I bet it is likely a fricii just judging from the looks and knowing that's what it's labeled as.  And btw, L. diffusa is still a "real" Loph.

You should go get some seeds to graft.  No need to spend $18 just to try and graft.  Seedlings are really easy to graft just right after germination and they usually germinate quickly.  I guess if you've got a caespitosa you're trying to use to breed with, you might have a few little pups to graft too.

As for the Pereskiopsis - just a few small cuttings of it will very quickly grow into many plants.  That's why they are so useful for grafting - because of their vigorous growth and general ease of cultivation.

Thanks for the insight. I will buy that lil guy and see what I can do with it.

I have a few different Trichos on their way so the grafting shouldn't be a problem.

A couple days ago I grafted a T. Peruvianus to my 6 inch Pereskiopsis. Looks pretty good so far. That was my first ever graft and I am pumped about how much of a difference that makes.

I want to eventually have enough Trichos grafting and multiplying that I can basically give them out for free just to spread this piece of the human soul and sacrament to the one true God.

All of these things in nature that open our third eye are there for us. It's not by chance that certain plants, fungi, etc... just produce alkaloids that profoundly effect the way our brains perceive reality. They are tools put on earth for us to use in a way that brings us together as One. To see that we are all one and exist through the one true God.

They are his attention getters, for some though, nothing like that ever comes across their mind. Not that there is something wrong with people like that. Even I dont have a trip that comes to a spiritual enlightenment apex every time. More often than not, i do.

I thank God for so many blessings I have in my life and that I have been protected from so many things that would have landed me in a very bad place during an experience.

I Love Everyone and Everything-

I just put in a bid for that guy. I requested a bigger one if he would be so kind.

We'll see though, either way, I'm grafting to either a Pedro or Peruvianus.

I CANT WAIT!!! I'm gonna pee my pants:eek:
