I think the term 'ego' is thrown around as if it represents ones individual identity.

That isn't what i asked , but i still disagree with you.

Actually.. when the ego attacks others , when it compares itself to others , when it judges other external entities and creates enemies >> it strengthens its sense of self.

To be more precise.. without external entities, it wouldn't even be able to  recognize its own existence.
