My first Hunt EVER !!! 2009 - late september UK
    #11364410 - 11/01/09 08:17 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Ok, first I want to apologise for the amount of pics that will soon follow this text.... however there is no way im going to keep them to myself and not share them with you because that's why i joined and its what the threads for.

Im aware of some of the names but not all of them... however this is more of a showcase of my first ever hunt than an ID request. It doesnt bother me too much that i dont know the names as i just enjoy being out there photographing them however if you know what they are id love to know as im all ways keen to expand my knowledge.

So the pics below was my first ever hunt that has sparked a new passion and hobby.... None of these are actives but i think a few are edibles...

Enjoy... :smirk:

And thanks to all of those who have rated me so far

Am I correct in thinking that pics 20+21 (growing on the tree) are piptoporus betulinus?

Great pictures, well done!

What ID book are you using?

All of the above posts are the fevered imaginings of a deluded mind, itself entirely the fictional creation of a somewhat peculiar author with a bizarre sense of humour.

Thanks for the kind words Mr.E + Subject

I have an old natural history book somewhere that had fungus in it and they looked exactly the same..... not 100% sure though.

If you really want to get rolling, get "Mushrooms" by Roger Phillips, pub.Macmillan 2006. ISBN 978-0-3304-42374. Well worth £20. Not exactly a pocket book, mind.
