New Closet Project * 2
    #11361929 - 11/01/09 10:54 AM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Hey everybody, This is my first post, so I figured I'd try to make it a good one.

I have a closet project that is nearing the spawn phase:

I prepped the closet by tearing out the carpeting, painting it all with antifungal paint (I know you like that peacock blue ) and installing indoor/outdoor carpeting with a moisture barrier. I also put some plastic sheeting up around where the tubs are to catch any drips. (If anyone has had their grow closet start molding due to sloppy moisture control, you know why I did that lol!)

It's lit with a 6500k CFL bulb (full spectrum)

There are 16 18gallon tubs all hooked up to a beast of a humidifier i made with spare parts around my house. I know it looks complicated but its really not. It has a 1500ml/hr ultrasonic in a tub, and the bottom tub on its side is just for catching drips so I don't drown my babies. Also, I have a gravity fed resevoir there on the right so I don't have to fill it up all that often. About once a week or so:

All this moisture is pushed by a DC squirrel cage motor I rigged up to a transformer and a dimmer. Don't try this unless you understand electricity, I had to get a little help on that and if I hadn't done it right I could have easily burned my house down. AC currents and DC currents are veryyyy different!

i have a little over 120 quarts of GT in different stages of colonization:

So far not a single contamination and I don't expect any. (knock on wood)

Some of it is about ready to spawn but I'm still waiting on my 16 bricks of Coir to get here, as soon as it does I'll be getting to work again. in the meantime, It's time to relax and play some PS3!!

Thoughts? Comments? Let me know! Thanks everyone!

How are those tubs getting light? Is that small window enough?

Impressive setup, must have been a pain the ass to get everything in there.

yeah the window is enough, the spectrum is what's important.

granted real filtered sunlight would be even better, but you do what you can with what you have right?

the only problem with this setup is the downtime to check all the tubs once they are all in use im looking at 20 minutes a day taking it all apart and another 20 putting it back together. i wish i had more space D:

It's probably gonna suck when you have to unstack those towers to make any adjustments.

2 timers to regulate it all. still tweaking it but i get 90% plus RH without anything actually in the tubs. and more than adequate FAE.

my only concern really is the bottom tubs since the tubes are shorter. im assuming they get more moisture/air than the top tubs. i'm going to attempt to control this with clamps. I'll let you know if it works.

well i wont have to make any adjustments really. i have pipe caps for the unused chambers, and i can dial down/up the fan and the ultrasonic mister. but in reality: yes, the 30 minutes a day i will spend checking all the tubs when everything is going full board will suck..(or will it?)
