Follow Up from a couple days ago...
    #11362021 - 11/01/09 01:10 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

A couple of days ago, I had made a post asking about the cakes that I had moved into a dual chamber FC. I was concerned that the humidity wasn't high enough, and had posted a couple of pictures of the cakes and was trying to get some direction as to how to correct what I thought was the problem.  As it turned out, I had gotten a hold of an outdated tek and was directed to a video that demonstrated how to make a shotgun FC.

I made sure that the cakes were dunked, and rolled and now have them in a smaller shotgun FC terrarium.  The other day, when I had posted, I was told that I should spray the cakes four times a day but I wasn't sure if that was more for the dual chamber terrarium, or if that was for the shotgun terrarium.  The video that I watched by RR, only shows spraying once-- but it seems that the perlite by itself wouldn't be enough to keep the humidity up.

I'm not entirely sure what the pins look like-- and now since the cakes are covered in vermiculite-- it's even harder to tell.  Any suggestions?  Here is a picture of my current setup.

Give them a bit of time. In a couple of days you should see pins. If your not sure what to look for search for pin pics and that will give you a better indication. But for the most part your looking for little white bumps

Your pins will look like tiny mushrooms. Give it a little time and you will see them. Good luck and good work.

So do I spray like 4 times daily?  Fanning each time?

A hygrometer is helpful.  Your setup looks okay, mist less often after you see pins, It could take up to 2 weeks.

Three to six times a day, fan, then mist, then fan again. Don't soak the cakes but keep them moist.

Direct fanning evaporates some of the moisture which triggers pinning.

Try to keep the RH in the 95% to 100% range.

I do this throughout the entire grow.
