Habitat:
Where does it grow? Found in Eastern NC Growing on the root of a tree

Gills:
Covered

Stem:
Fiberous, 1-3 inches long
Cap:
Spherical, convex, gold

Spore print color:
Rusty orange

Bruising:
None so far





Please help me ID these. Thanks.

Looks like Gymnopilus spectabilis to me, but it's hard to tell at this state of maturity.

SWEET thanks! I about 100% sure, my girl just wants me to be careful =P. Anything else that they  could possibly be? They are pretty distinct IMHO.

Welcome to the Shroomery, msalstrom.  It might be G. spectabilis, but we need more info to be sure.  Maybe even microscopic examination.  It's a complex and that form looks odd.

More pics of gills, hope this helps. I'll post a sporeprint picture in a bit. The gills are not as white as they appear in the photo, more of a light yellow.
