This is basically a question on whether or not you believe in fate. If i was to reset this universe to, with exactly the starting parameters it had 13 billions years ago, would i and all of humanity still be here today. Or would we be looking at a totally different universe.
I believe that if i could somehow reset the whole uni back to the beginning i would be here in 13 billions year time.
Your thoughts.....

Good question. I think the universe would be different because i believe conscious intelligence does not behave in a mechanical fashion. So the intelligent beings would make different choices and preform different actions in the new universe.

Yeah, but what if we reset life, on earth, with exactly the same parameters. I think life would evolve exactly the same way, all because of the parameters i.e. the experience each orgasm gets will be the same. So if ruled by the same laws our universe has, surely i would all ways of come out like me because my DNA + my environment = me. To change me you would have to change one or the other. Just a thought

I concur.
i believe life is trippy like this..
I believe if we had computer powerful enough to take into consideration all of the paramaters affecting reality at the time, then we could effectively predict the future...
You could also build artificial models of reality...
Luckily we've about 30 years imo.

I think having a self is an introspective process. Because of this it is partly disconnected from its external environment. Because of this you can change external conditions but the self will always be somewhat separate from the external world. So if you changed the universe the self would be self governing and change would not totally influence it. Because of this reverting the universe would not control how individual selves behave and you would not be able to predict their actions by comparing them to the state of the universe.

I sadly cannot seperate the self from the universe.
Just look how strongly we are affected by it.
It is hard to escape, really.
We are governed by many forces we are yet unaware of..

We are strongly affected by it but even then its mostly done through the lens of our own self perception. That's why two different people can experience the same thing in two different ways. Its the ability to perceive ourselves and therefore reprogram ourselves which makes us self governing.

I believe the whole universie is just one giant deterministic chaotic system. If you could get the exact same parameters, than I believe the universe would be exactly as it is right now, we this point is once again reached. But due to it's chaotic nature, something as small as a 0.0000000001 difference in the data could result is a hugely different universe.
But I agree with dimension x about concsious beings having free will- at the same time as I view the universe as being previously determined. Time is just another dimension- and just like our previous 3 ones, you can travel along time. This must mean that the path is already laid out ahead of us as it lays out behind us- If we could look at time from a total view instead of just our relative perspective of an instant, we would see all of our life is already happening- just not at the same time, detach yourself from a single perspective and you can detach yourself from time and understand this. But then how would free will be possible, if it's already happened? I don't know, it seems contradictory but it's what I believe. Somehow the universe understands what our free choice will be, and so even though we have the choice to choose an option different from the current outcome of the universe, we won't- for the true, free choice we want to make is how the universe already is, harmony.
