Happy Halloween.

Icelander, for some reason you remind me of the air conditioner from the Brave Little Toaster.

Am I a curmudgeon for turning off the lights so as not have to feed the little goblins handsful of corn-syrupy goodness? Or am I just protecting them from losing a limb later in life due to diabetes?

Reminds me of that monk who torched himself as a Halloween prank.

Was Shakespeare a nihilist?

Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more; it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

I like that quote. It puts our feet in the fire. IMO No psychology or spiritual pursuit has a chance of success without addressing it.

Shakespeare was one funny guy.

I find it strange that poetical speech can show a lot more than straight talk. If the poet is good that is.
