Tragic Accident - Incubator Overheating

To my horror, I awoke today to discover my incubator closet was at 51 degrees Celsius. There were about 15 jars in there, most fully colonized. They were in there for about 9 hours.....
Chances of survival for these guys?

I believe mycelium thermal death occurs at about 106 degrees fahrenheit.
51c = 123.8F
They might have a chance if it was not exposed for a long time.

I was using a closet and a fan heater on a timer.

P. Cub B+, P. Cub Equa. and Coppeys.
--EDIT--
The copeys are fucked... for sure.
The others seem alright though. I guess the only way to find out would be to wait a few days....

This is one of the many reasons you should not use an incubator.

what timing cycle was the heater on?
It would be best to get a temperature controller(Rheostat), instead of a regular timer. a timer has absolutely no way of regulating temperature.. A simple timing cycle was only making it progressively warmer and warmer inside the closed environment.

Prime example of why "incubators" are not needed.
70F is all ya need... Throw them under your bed in a shoe box or something.

to the people who automatically say incubators are not needed
same with casings.
they are both options available when conditions are not optimal on their own..
This is not an example of why incubators shouldn't be used. It is an example of why the heat needs to be controlled.

im working in an old apartment, here in ny its starting to get pretty cold my jars were about 60Degrees F because the heat wsnt on in the apartment, so i built an incubator to put my 80ish jars in it was doin great, until they turned the heat on and i wasn't there for 3 days. when i went back my incubator and the top 40 or so jars were at 99 degrees F. i could only imagine what temp it was below 80+ jars now that's a Tragic Accident

If your not shivering or boiling hot then there is nothing wrong with leaving them in a plain old storage bin.

If your house is that cold then get a space heater.

pointless post... whats the difference?
I would rather pay an electric bill to heat 1 cubic foot of space of a TiT, or even a small closet, rather than a 1000 cubic foot room..

Space heater = Heated room suitable for jars to colonize as well as heat for your fruiting chambers/marthas etc.
Incubator = Waste of space. waste of time.
And we all know how much electricity is, you're not fooling anyone with this cost issue.
