    #11357114 - 10/31/09 01:54 PM (7 years, 11 months ago)

This is my first i.d thread so please go easy on me.
Mushrooms were found in sand around a old fir/conifir tree stump that most likely has leaves and rotten wood under the sand.location is southeast MI.

colors in the pics are very close to real world.

gills are a light tan ( to my eye)

I dont have a ruler handy to measure but will haveone for next post.
Tops are very sticky and slimy.

spore print looks rusty brn almost orange to me.Again color is spot on real world to pic

Hm... to be honest, the gill-pic you sent doesn't really help.

Did you take all of them with you?
If not, it could be very helpful if you'd go there another time and take a few specimens with you incl. stem, route etc. You can't really see too much in these pics. At least I can't. Sorry...

They're a cortinarius species.

Admittedly, it's not the best quality, but it does show gill color, spacing and attachment, which are the most important features in a gill shot.

I know! For me it's alot easier to ID a mushroom, when I see it completely. Since he had the opportunity to get another pic, that's better than the one before, it seems legitimate to me to ask for it.

You never know how long it takes till someone comes around, that is able to ID based on pics like these:wink:

So is it the quality of the pics that is stopping the i.d?
There is a lot of this kind of shroom so I can take any kind of pic that is needed. I wish I knew someone around me to help cuz I have found about 20 diifernt kinds of shrooms in a small area even these truffle lookin things with a purple inside. Its like my eyes are drawn to them . I cant go 5 feet without seeing a mushroom. I have a feeling this is going to be worse then my flashlight addiction lol.

Probably a Pholiota... better photos of the underside would help.

I am going to invest in a tripod and see if I cant get my photos to look a little better. seems like I'm gonna have to join a photography forum now.

you can all etibem.  just go to candle power forums and be perpeard to be overwhelmed, and for your wallet to get a little lighter.
when you realize you can have a flashlight that's as small as a AA battery and as powerful as a 1 mill cp spotlight it will be all over.
you will be addicted. you have been warned.

I have the Tiablo A9 which I use to spotlight nocturnal mammals, etc, but I haven't gotten addicted to flashlights. though the ACE-G with the extender would be sweet...
