Weird alcohol use/sleep pattern?

I find that if I have a few drinks I don't sleep very long and i wake up very early in the morning.  When I get hammered and pass out I'm out until late morning and can go back to sleep if I wake up.  Anybody else notice this?

Its like I have to get wasted if I drink more than a pint or else I'll wake up super early and feel shitty rather than alot later and more shitty.

I do to.  Early morning waking is a sign of depression.

I get that, if I drink a decent amount I wake up early to enjoy the hangover :undecided:

do you mean if you haven't been drinking or if you have been drinking but only a little bit?

Ive noticed this.

If i have a beer or two in the 1-3pm, ill get drowsy and nap, ill wake up in an hour or so, groggy but unable to sleep.

If i want some rest but cant get to sleep, ill have a few drinks, and im out like a light.

If i get drunk, or smashed, ill pass out for at least 12 hrs, and the hangover only depends on if i had wine, shitty beer, or no water/food the previous night.

My doctor said early morning waking is a depression sign.  I notice it strongly when I drink and when I don't.  When I don't drink I sleep better.
