I broke 1 cake out in 3 chunks and all 3 fruited.
I had a qt with a wet section that didn't colonize. When I birthed, just didn't use that part, fruiting now :tongue2:
I'd think it would be fine. How long has it been inactive? Is the jar(S) in question knotting also?

Birth, remove uncolonized material, then dunk and roll.

If you have shrooms in there already then birth it.

I'd be willing to bet that the wet spots will smell funky which is a good sign of contam

Full colonization means full colonization of the available substrate.  If parts of it are too wet, too dry, contaminated, etc., then they're not available, and full colonization is reached when the rest of the substrate is colonized.

Good advice to wash off the uncolonized areas and fruit.  If it's growing mushrooms, it's ready to come out of the jar.

they could be scorched from the sterilization process.. i used to do it all the time when i first started, im just sayin it could be a possibility i always thought it was too wet until i realized that i was scorchin the substrate
