Yes I think so! The spores are the right size and shape.
I hope I can find time to look at the cystidia but I have at least 100 pictures to upload from today.
This is the first P. ovoideocystidia find from Rhode Island. I created a MO observation to get it on the official distribution map. This is the furthest east that this species has been collected.

All I did is put the spores on there and took a picture. You should be complaining that I didn't do more.
I should have measured the spores (30 of them) and posted pictures of the cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia.
Maybe I will.

Spore lengths (8.4) 9.1-11.0 (12.0) microns
Microscopically like Psilocybe stuntzii despite being in the wrong part of the USA.

I take it that these were found in a planted area...possibly from wood chips that came from somewhere else? Like the PNW maybe?

They were in wood chips. Wouldnt't make sense to bring wood chips from the PNW to the NE though.....

True enough, I'm just trying to figure out how stuntziis got over to your neck of the woods. Maybe they piggy-backed on the azaleas or something. Either way, cool finds.
