can i get an ID pls
    #11347061 - 10/29/09 08:05 PM (7 years, 11 months ago)

please note that there were a big variety of maturity levels but all were pretty dried from the wind. i tried to show the variety throughout the pics below...im guessing cyans

Habitat:
This was growing in norcal on a soil mixed with old bark chips. its been a few weeks since the last rainfall and it has been windy so i am think their dryness comes from the wind. they were amongst pine olive and a few oak trees (mainly pine)

Gills:
gills are light brown when young darker when older

Stem:
stem is whiteish when young and turning brownish when mature. when young the stem is thick and filled but hollow when older/dried

Cap:
the is brown when young and a golden brownish mayb yellowish when old. when mature it is very wavy

Spore print color:
no spore print yet on its way

Bruising:
i didnt see any

Other information:
this might not be too helpfull but the older dried ones smelled like the generic dried active mushie. a broken up younger more moist one had a scent of rye crackers. they generally grew in clusters and there was a whole bunch of them...again i think cyans but pls let me kno!

Keep looking though. More research wouldn't hurt.

Its the most common mushroom in the bay area right now.  I saw ten thousand of them this weekend.

Probably edible but I am not sure.

They have a farniaceous odor, like all psychedelic mushrooms.

found this on wiki....
Kind known to the general public for a very popular species, l 'Agrocybe Aegeri, better known by the nickname "pioppini" one of the most popular mushrooms.
Diverse specie sono commestibili, altre sono senza valore, non risultano specie velenose. Several species are edible, others are worthless, are not poisonous species.

so not active?
