No way you'll get an ID on a little brown mushroom like that without way more info and a picture.

The smaller ones are Psathyrella and the larger ones Hebeloma or Agrocybe.

how do u no they are not active?
is this because they have been left for too long and not picked early enough in the year?
can i still eat them? are they deadly duds or magic? if they are not active does this mean they are duds and have no effect?

What kind of magic are you looking for?

Deadly mushrooms have the magical ability to reduce overpopulation.  (this is known in the mycology world as bioremediation)

Psathyrella are good for casting magic spells, for instance to give someone good luck or a three foot nose.

Agrocybe are good for black magic, summoning demons and stuff like that.

Hebeloma is poisonous so its good for feeding to republicans.  If you feed republicans the right type of mushrooms they will not vote in the next election, causing the democrats to win and spend all your hard earned money on stupid social programs.

I guess my point is that all mushrooms are good for certain magic spells.

But if you try to sell the mushrooms posted in this thread to hippies they will stuff you into a VW bus and kick your ass.

.. oh and yes, OP. There are lots of very dank woods this time o'year down in Kent. You may find cyans... you may not, there'll be plenty to find nonetheless.

:mushroom2: "Shamanism that is specifically rooted in the kind of experiences that are induced by psychoactive plants ... is an area that our society is extraordinarily phobic and nervous concerning, and the reason I think is not far to seek.
Because modern institutions depend on the transmission of a certain world view and then willing acquiescense in the truth of that world view by the populations into which it is being exported.
In other words a kind of cultural brainwashing is necessary for modern cultures to work at all.
The consequences of the acceptance of this situation of brainwashing is further acceleration toward catastrophe."
