very difficult to find a school that teaches it... at least around here
Francis Fong teaches JKD and Wing Chun, he studied under Ip Man with Bruce Lee and studied JKD with Innosanto under Bruce Lee, Fong's was the only place I've managed to hit a cop without going to jail, I used to take my younger brother for classes, I got to participate a great deal
the majority of my learning is with Jow Ga, it's similar to JKD in the aspect it's a newer form and is always evolving, my training was much less formal than schools give, same sort of tools you had used
a 9 year old kicked my ass, he made me beg so his father taught me

I have trained for a while in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and just now have started training at a MMA gym that teaches MMA as a whole. Incorporating striking, into takedowns, into grappling, etc. It's pretty awesome and effective in something like a real street fight if you ask me, and a damn good workout as a bonus.
Has anybody else trained at a MMA-based camp/school/dojo/whatever the hell other names I've heard them called

has anyone heard of Satanic Combat Science?... http://www.dpjs.co.uk/violence.html
Quote:
Xloptuny's Satanic Combat Sciences is a combat science (not a martial art) which takes into account modern weaponry such as guns, weapons of opportunity and other real-life situations. There are other modern combination combat arts out there, but Xloptuny's Satanic Combat Sciences is likely to be the most practical, accessible and useful combat science.
the link on that page that used to take you to a more in depth description doesn't work anymore... But I remember reading about it a few years ago... fuck that shit sounds brutal!
I can't find any info on it anymore, only person I've talked about that has any experience with it was a well known member of the Church Of Satan... they keep it pretty secretive I guess... said it was similar to russian combat science, but geared more towards practical street combat instead of military.
i'd love bein able to say "BACK OFF... I KNOW SATANIC COMBAT SCIENCE!!"

Yup I train at an MMA gym in Phoenix. After last weekends Grappling World Team Trials we're the #1 ranked No-Gi grappling gym in the country. 7 people going to the world games.
Next year.... sigh...

Oh right on. The worlds are over by me in FL, if I remember correctly. Should be pretty awesome. Do you compete in NAGA or similar events?

Yeah they are in Florida this year. (Last year they were in Albania... and now Florida?!)
I'm just getting to the NAGA/Nationals level. I hope to place well in both competitions next year, thus far I've only done local grappling tournaments and I'm currently recovering from a nasty shoulder injury and getting ready for my first pro MMA fight in December.
