Yellow Amanita? What Kind Could This Be? HELP!

This guy was found many MONTHS back...
i was just quite curious as to that species it was.
found on a lawn growing amongst MANY others...
and some Chlorophyllum molybdites

Maybe something like Amanita aprica.  But its silly to try to guess which Amanita based on those pictures alone.  A pic of the base of the stem is required.

The gills dont look free. Your in the wrong part of the country for A. aprica

They look free to me, and they probably are free, per the Amanita-like veil remnants on the cap.

There are yellow Russula, but I don't think that is what we have here.

i'll bet 50 cents it was a russula, and that's bird poop on it
