Habitat:
i found these in salem, oregon. on the floor of a forest, lots of decideous(the kinds that loose there leaves) by alot of dead wood and leaves.

Gills:
white,atached.

Stem:
5-7cmlong, 2-4 mmwide, ywllo/orange, smooth, hollow, thin, i thought it looked short and stubby.

Cap:
3.5-5.5 diameter, white around edge yelowish/orange in middle, smooth, spherical, convex.

Spore print color:
still working on it

Bruising:
stem fades lighter, and cap fades to a light brown.

Other information:
found in clusters of 4-10 by dead wood.

Well it's not active... That's for sure!

Could be more or less anything. Maybe an Entoloma sp.

how can you be sure if its not active if you dont know the speicies?

Cause I think I know all the active species that are commonly found. When you're dealing with "magic mushrooms" a little longer you gain quiet a good idea of what they look like:wink:

Because it needs to meet certain prerequisites to qualify. You know these things when you've studied mushrooms for years.
It's like I only need to look at the trunk of a car to be able to tell that it's not a Ferrari when I am an expert on cars.
Just because you would like a mushroom to be active doesn't make it active.

I've always wondered that so many people have difficulties to see why it's infinitely easier to say what something is not instead of positively identifying something, as it seems pretty clear that the former assessment's possibilities are endless as opposed to the latter.
