diy teeth pulling
    #11338724 - 10/28/09 03:52 PM (8 years, 9 months ago)

I have a tooth that has been annihilated by my younger years of candy usage, I had a filling in it and now it is out.
Went to dentist months ago, said there was an infection and I would need a root canal or the tooth pulled.
Can't afford either.
How difficult do you think this procedure would be to perform?

I understand the infection could spread to my bloodstream, but it hasn't yet and it has been many months since it's discovery, the thing just hurts like hell.

Thank you for any advice!

I think it depends more how strong your rope/string is.

I wouldn't try it on a molar, no way. That method is for already loosened tooth that are ready to pop out.

I'm getting a molar yanked on saturday too, fucker is causing me soo much pain.

As for cleaning it out, it's called hydrogen peroxide.

Yeah man.. just try to work somethign out with the dentist. I've had a dentist break a tooth once while trying to pull it out, having a friend do it with pliers sounds like bad news to me. Good luck to you either way tho.. teeth and their nerves are fucking bitches. :frown:

That sounds like the  best course of action tho, if you do it at home.

I used hemostats and just locked on my upper wisdom tooth and started breaking and pulling out all the pieces.  it doesnt hurt as bad as it already does and once your done...sweet relief.:sun:
it goes numb on its own after a minute or two just watch out for the exposed nerve once you get a majority of it removed.

then swish with alcohol (vodka/whiskey) or mouthwash.:stoned:

mines been good ever since.:super:

That sounds more reasonable. I figured there would be a technique involved maybe.

My uncle told about some school that would do it if I came in but I don't know if thats true.

I think we have some of those. It's in there really tight though, I would definitely need my friend to do it, with myself in an inebriated state of kinds.
Any other info is awesome, I'm going for now, thanks all.

Get Care Credit.

It's like a credit card for dental work and the interest is outragous, but it beats dealing with an infected tooth.

Don't know where to look. Best option I think, then someone said there may be a fee involved, probably only a minor one.

Call up some near-by community colleges.

I would definitely check into the schools for dental work, it's about the cheapest way to go and the students are supervised by licensed dentists.  If all else fails, I'd go for the whippet and friend technique, it's a proven method though I'd hate to wake up to the pain.

Fucking Care Credit!

I had to get them to get my wisdom teeth pulled, I couldn't afford it, and I couldn't afford their payments.
The operation was like 2k. I think my grand total through care credit ended up being like 3.4k
