3 ID's Please
    #11336569 - 10/28/09 07:34 AM (7 years, 11 months ago)

Hiya,  please can someone identify these please.
It's been years since I had shrooms, so I hope one of the will get me high.  I was looking for libs and I think the first ID request will please me.  Anyway, thank you in advance....
FYI: I couldn't find a guide on what is meant by bruising, so I have just flicked the caps on each shroom, and reported on the colour.  Is this right?

Number one:

Habitat: UK Lowland cow pasture, short and long grass.  Lots of fungi.

Cap: Light tan, moist, .5-1.5 cm diameter, tiny nipple in middle or slightly off centre.

Stem: White, hollow, fragile, 2-3mm diameter, 3-7cm long.

Gills: Attached, tan brown (darker than cap)

Scent: Mushroom-like!

Spore Print: Brown with a very slight indigo tint

Bruising: Slight darkening.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Number two:

Habitat: UK Lowland cow pasture, short and long grass.  Lots of fungi.

Cap: Dark tan/brown, moist, .5-2.5cm diameter, 'baby bottle teat' shaped, darker brown towards teat.

Stem: Dark brown with reddish undertones, hollow, slightly touch and stringy. 5-10 cm long and 2-4mm diameter.

Gills: Attached, dark tan (same as cap)

Scent: Mushroom-like wit a hint of chemically laytex!

Spore Print: Black (could have some dark, dark blue in it but very difficult to say)

Bruising: Darkens

------------------------------------------------------------------

Number three:

Habitat: UK Lowland cow pasture, short and long grass.  Lots of fungi.

Cap: Orange tan with a browning tip. Up to 1cm diameter and 1cm tall.

Stem: Slightly lighter tan orange than the cap. Very thin, cannot tell if it's hollow.

Gills: Attached, same colour as cap.

Scent: Mushroom-like!

Spore Print: Wow! Orange!

Bruising: Darkens

The first one looks like Psilocybe semiglobata, but wouldn't count on my ID on this, since neither have I time, nor the muse to actually look it up.

Thanks.
Obviously I'll wait 'till someone who is (more) sure answers before I scoff the up. Would I be high... or would I die?

As far as I can see, none of the mushrooms you found is active or worth eating.

So you probably don't really have to wait for an answer

Did you really expect that the first three mushrooms you stumble upon would be active? It doesn't work that way.

I can't remember writing that they were the first three I stumbled across!

The last two, were just a curious 'What's this thing?'
The first one, surely, for a noob is questionable.  Which is why I'm here.

If you study the actives in your area when you do find them you'll have no doubt in your mind that they are in fact active, active mushrooms just have that 'look.' :rofldrunk:

Jamesie, take a look at this, it might help you!

After you looked up what active mushrooms grow in your area, try to find information about what they look like, what substrate they're growing on etc.

This is probably the only way for you to move around in the world of "magic" mushrooms.
