Finding wholesalers?
    #11329911 - 10/27/09 08:39 AM (8 years, 1 month ago)

Is really fucking hard!

Anybody have any advice?

I'm using the common known websites for traders like alibaba but they have hardly any wholesalers on there.

Whats worse is theres a whole scam industry offering to sell wholesale information.  :frown:

Exactly, what are you looking to buy?  If you know what you want to buy it may be easier (and more profitable) to go directly to the manufacturer and become setup as a distributor.

Thats a good point.  I don't actually know.  Anything that I can sell and distribute on ebay.

Choosing product is a hard thing.

So far I have found 1 good reliable wholesaler of a particular electronic item that I distribute on ebay.  There are several other people doing exactly the same thing so its competative and I can't make much per sale but its working and making a profit.

I figured I need to increase the product range but my wholesaler specialises in this item and doesn't sell anything else.

Anything you can find to sell on eBay, somebody else can. You need to get the personal hookup.

But... "sell crap on eBay" isn't really a business plan. In fact, let me say this- it's not a good way to make money, really.
For the amount of time and effort involved, you might as well just get a job.

you need to knwo what you want exactly, without that people are not going to be able to help you without actually going out and researching themselves.....and if they did that they would probably just sell it themselves as their own business

another thing to consider is that unless you are buying large bulk quantities to offset the shipping costs, the profits will be much smaller.  i was looking to import coco coir a while ago, but to remain competitive and offset shipping i needed to buy about 3 containers full, large investment for the not so serious.

Yep. And a boiler big enough to fill an Olympic-sized pool.

I'm already beating the effort to pay ratio though and I've only been running 1 month.  Plus there are no jobs here that I could handle doing.

Yeah but thast why I dominate the market share, b uy big bulk and sell cheap then people don't really want to compete and if they do then they only take a share not the entire market value.

Electronic Cigarettes...save peoples lives by selling them a legal drug that they already go through major lanks to obtain. And they can be smoked inside.

In my research I have found the mini EC-907 to be the best deal. You can order them real cheap from Alibaba.com for 7$ each, comes with everything you need and 10 cartridges(equal to 3 1/2 packs of analog smokes). Ridiculously good deal.
