What is this on my bridgesii?
    #11327953 - 10/26/09 11:31 PM (8 years, 1 month ago)

I cut this pup off not that long ago and it has since calloused over nicely and has been rooted, but it has these two black lumps on it.

Having a decent amount of cacti I know that some black spots on them are normal, they will heal up and one can scrape them off like a scab revealing healed flesh, but these are very lumpy as you can see in the pic.

They are not soft, they are actually very firm.

Ive never experienced this before, what is it?

I had something that looked very similar to that. Never figured out what it was, but it didn't get any worse.

I get the normal black spots every so often, but I have never seen one bulge so big before so it freaked me out. :scaredturtle:

The one I had looked buldged like that. I've had those small black spots before, too.

Unlike the small black spots, that can flake off, this kind doesn't go anywhere.

Yeah it is unsightly, but it is very common on Bridgesii for whatever reason.
